From S-O’s creator J Danielle
Singled-Out is more than just a play on words. I always thought I’d be engaged at 27, married by 28, and well on my way to being a mom at 32 while enjoying 4-5 years of childless wedded bliss. Fairy tales are just that. Fantasies are just that. I have been single my entire dating life save for one very short relationship in which me and “THE-EX” were miles away from each other for most of our time ‘together.’ I’ve never been in love. Never had my heart broken. And never known what it’s like to have the love and support of a romantic relationship. And now, at 27, I’m still single and typically described as an ‘independent woman’ –a title that fills me with reluctant pride.
This Web site was not created as an avenue for me to complain about being unattached and the last thing I need is people telling me “don’t worry you’ll find him” because the truth is I may not, and I know that now. I created this blog to share my experience as a single person because single people, especially single women, are one of the most stereotyped and hyped groups in America. I wanted to create a place that would a single person’s normalcy, in all its shapes and form.
Singled-Out is more than a blog…it’s an interactive experience for those who are in touch with what I call your SSS (sexy single side). It’s a place for robust discussion, encouragement, laughter, and entertainment, and hard truths. It’s…what me and readers like yourself make it.
